The Stape/Dobbs family were thrilled in Monday’s (March 4) episode of Coronation Street as Fiz Stape (Jennie McAlpine) finally returned home.

To accommodate for Jennie’s maternity leave, Fiz has spent the last few months working in Norwich.

Recently, Tyrone (Alan Halsall) departed Weatherfield temporarily to join Fiz on a holiday in Italy, leaving Evelyn (Maureen Lipman) and Cassie (Claire Sweeney) with the challenging prospect of looking after Hope (Isabella Flanagan) and Ruby (Billie Naylor).

When Fiz and Tyrone returned tonight, the awkwardness between Fiz and her new mother-in-law was obvious.

Cassie entered Ty’s life when Fiz was away, so she wasn’t around when she relapsed or made mistakes by letting Hope skip school and get a nose piercing.

That evening, as Fiz and Tyrone sorted through their washing, Fiz said that she’s happy to see Ty and his relatives together, but then pointed out something that may cause a problem – there isn’t actually enough room for Cassie and Evelyn to live with the family.

Awkward.

It will no doubt be down to Tyrone to make the final decision, but what will it be?

Will he kick Evelyn out, or Cassie?

Or both of them?

And could this new challenge impact his relationship with Fiz?
