Coronation Street

Two major Coronation Street characters in the frame for killer attack on vile Nathan – and it’s not Bethany

Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper), the man who abused and groomed Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon), will have his life hanging in the balance soon when a Coronation Street resident approaches and attacks him.

Recently, Bethany spotted Nathan at the precinct and was later told by DS Swain (Vicky Myers) that the evil man was released from prison months ago.

It wasn’t long until Bethany found Nathan again and accused him of murdering Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) – because why else would he be at the precinct watching a police reconstruction of her last known movements?

Coming up, when Craig (Colson Smith) lets slip that Nathan’s alibi features him at a nail bar where his new girlfriend works, Bethany points out that he was running a tanning salon when he groomed her.

Bethany and Daniel confront Nathan in Corrie

Meanwhile, Sarah (Tina O’Brien) tells Gary (Mikey North) that she’s worried about Bethany, who seems fixated on trying to pin Lauren’s murder onto Nathan.

As Daniel (Rob Mallard) and Bethany later head out, they’re shocked to be confronted by Nathan, who rails at Bethany for harassing his girlfriend.

In the pub, as Gary, Sarah and David (Jack P Shepherd) discuss Nathan, we see him at a building site packing up his stuff.

When a hooded figure approaches, Nathan collapses and falls unconscious after being hit over the head.

Later in the week, as Bethany mulls over who Nathan’s attacker could be, Shona (Julia Goulding) quizzes David about the stains on his jeans, not convinced by his story.

David assures Bethany and Sarah that he’s innocent but they’re interrupted by Shona brandishing the tracking app on David’s phone, which proves he was at the building site when Nathan was attacked.

David admits that he witnessed the attack but wasn’t responsible, leaving Bethany certain it was Daniel.

But is she right?
