ITV Coronation Street heartbreak as Gail Platt ‘disowned’ and double revenge twist

There’s a whole load of trouble ahead on Coronation Street as Gail Platt leaves for good.

But ahead of Helen Worth’s big exit on Christmas Day after 50 years in the role, will she face the biggest heartbreak of all? She’s not the only one facing drama though, as her children Nick Tilsley, David Platt and Sarah Platt all have their own issues to contend with.

There’s a cruel move from one Corrie icon, and a double revenge twist – and some big decisions to be made. A new Corrie trailer has teased Gail’s exit, as well as her wedding to Jesse Chadwick.

An epic Platt family portrait has been shared by the ITV soap, showing the famous family smiling away – while they’re all hiding something troubling. Gail herself faced heartache as her family try to stop her marrying Jesse.

Her own mother schemes to stop the marriage, and ends up giving her devastated daughter an ultimatum. But will it tear them apart for good? With Gail planning to move to the boulevards of France with her new man, it remains to be seen if they do stay together.

Audrey tells a shocked Gail though that if she marries Jesse, they’re done. She warns: “You’ll never see me again” as Gail sobs – so what will Gail do?

Meanwhile she’s unaware of all the little drama bombs popping off around her, as the Platts face turmoil. David finds himself in hot water as the Radcliffe brothers find out he stole Damon Hay’s money.

But he’s also left in turmoil as he suspects wife Shona Platt is having an affair. He is yet to find out about her night of passion with Kit Green, as David’s recent lies about her son Clayton left her taking revenge.

Now David faces further revenge as the brothers demand they get the money back – so is he in danger? It’s teased David will be pushed over the edge.

Meanwhile Sarah is in torment over her daughter Bethany Platt, who is still struggling after her recent botched surgery that left her fighting for her life. Sarah wants her daughter to be happy, but will she be thrilled or uneasy when Daniel Osbourne proposes to Bethany?

Max Turner is struggling with the pressure of supporting girlfriend Lauren Bolton who is in prison for killing Joel Deering. Finally, Leanne Battersby plots to take down her ex Nick for his affair with her sister Toyah.

After learning they were secretly together or at least hinting at such, Leanne began to target Toyah in a money twist. Now it’s been revealed that Nick is next on her list, and she has hatched a plan to frame them both for fraud.
