Corrie David’s new romance ‘revealed’ after Shona cheats – and it’s with unexpected resident
Coronation Street viewers believe they’ve uncovered David Platt’s unexpected new love interest from the cobbles.
Last week, David’s wife Shona (played by Julia Goulding) was unfaithful with police officer Kit Green (Jacob Roberts). Fans will remember that David has been manipulating and deceiving Shona for the past month to prevent her from seeing her son Clayton (Callum Harrison).
Clayton, who killed David’s ex-wife Kylie (Paula Lane) in 2016, tried to contact Shona from jail. However, David swiftly intervened, discarding letters and erasing emails sent to her. Shona eventually discovered the truth and was livid. A heated argument between David and Shona followed, but Shona was arrested earlier in the day for assaulting a prison governor.
After being questioned by Kit, Shona was released and instead of returning home, she hit the town. The next day, it was evident that Shona was concealing something significant, reports Lancs Live.
By the end of the episode, it was revealed that Shona had slept with Kit. Shona has since promised to keep their encounter a secret, but on Monday’s episode (December 9), she returned to his hotel room.
However, Shona decided at the last moment not to sleep with Kit again – a decision which Kit respected before letting her leave.
Soap fans are buzzing with speculation about David’s love life in Coronation Street as his better half Shona (Julia Goulding) has locked lips with Kit behind his back. But in the land of soap dramas, secrets have a way of exploding and those glued to their screens are already placing bets on who David could fall for next.
A viewer piped up on a Corrie fan page opining, “It’s about time Shona got a juicy storyline but I don’t want her and David to split.” Fans didn’t hold back in the comments, dishing out predictions for David’s next flame. One viewer chimed in saying: “I could just see David and Daisy together.” Another joined the chorus: “I’ve always thought this.”
Daisy, portrayed by Charlotte Jordan since 2020 has been stirring things up as Jenny Connor’s (played by Sally Ann Matthews) stepdaughter and has been at the centre of major plots, including an intense acid attack storyline.
Meanwhile, Jack P. Shepherd, the actor behind David, shared with Plymouth Live what could happen if David discovers Shona’s fling.
He revealed: “I think he will react in a way where he’ll have to try and get his own back somehow. And he’ll have to try and do it in a clever way. He won’t be able to take him on physically, it will have to be something sort of mentally I’d have thought. He’ll do something to f**k his life up somehow.”
