Lauren’s fate ‘confirmed’ in Coronation Street as she makes final decision that changes everything
Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) future is looking bleak in Coronation Street after being sent to prison for Joel Deering’s (Calum Lill) murder.
It was revealed earlier this year that the young mum killed Joel after hitting him with a brick. Present when this happened was Max Turner (Paddy Bever), who helped Lauren throw Joel over a bridge and into a river.
Initially, Max planned to take the blame to prevent Lauren from going to prison, but a letter found by David (Jack P Shepherd) saw the police discover the truth.
This prompted Kit (Jacob Roberts) to arrive at Lauren’s and arrest her.
This left the troubled character utterly distraught as she was forced to say goodbye to her young son Frankie.
In upcoming episodes, Lauren is getting ready for her plea hearing.
During a meeting with her solicitor, Lauren learns that if she pleads not guilty, the case will go to trial and the prosecution will rake over her unsavoury past.
To give her further food for thought, Max then visits Lauren and says if she pleads guilty for a lesser sentence, Frankie will grow up thinking his Mum killed his Dad, when that isn’t true.
There’s no easy way out of this – what will Lauren decide?
‘She’s now killed someone and that’s going to stay with her for a long time, I don’t know how she will come back from that,’ star Cait explained.
‘After everything Joel has done, Lauren doesn’t feel like she got the justice that she wanted – he tried to kill her, her baby and has hurt everyone that she loves.
‘But I do think the fact that Lauren knows she’s going to have to explain everything to Frankie will be really tough on her.’
