Deadly Coronation Street exit story ‘confirmed’ for Max – and it’s horrific

Paddy Bever is the latest Coronation Street star to have his exit confirmed from the ITV soap.

The young actor took over the role as Max Turner in 2021. Adopted son of David Platt (Jack P Shepherd), Max is currently involved in a storyline with girlfriend Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton).

The new mum was responsible for murdering Joel Deering (Calum Lill) last year. After the death, Max helped Lauren throw Joel’s body into a river.

At first, Max planned to take the fall for Lauren so she wasn’t separated from her son Frankie. Unfortunately, as Shona (Julia Goulding) and David learnt the truth, it wasn’t long until Kit (Jacob Roberts) arrested Lauren.

Paddy is one in a long line of Corrie cast members departing the ITV soap this year. With his final scenes due to air in the coming weeks, it’s very possible his exit will happen at the same time as the Platt house fire.

Metro previously revealed how a major fire was being filmed, with pictures showing the Platt house ablaze.

With David finding himself embroiled in Harvey Gaskell’s (Will Mellor) dangerous world, could he lose his son in the middle of this feud?

Producer Kate Brooks has certainly fuelled this theory, previously saying: ‘It all goes to pot! David has stolen a big old bag of cash from Harvey, which was the wrong move. He’s done it for the house and the family, but this escalates massively.

‘The story we’re telling is one of a very desperate David, trying to protect his family and keep Harvey and his goons at bay. He is struggling to navigate that, and struggling to pay back this big debt he has.

‘It all comes to a massive head in early February, when we play a massive stunt that has huge consequences for David. So, in trying to protect everyone and do the right thing, he ends up losing quite a few things that he holds dear.’

‘After much reflection and in an incredibly difficult decision, I have chosen to step away from Max, and Coronation Street, to explore new opportunities. I have been surrounded by such kindness and support every step of the way’, Paddy, 22, said in a statement that confirmed his exit.

Talking to The Mirror, he added: ‘It’s been a great privilege to contribute to the legacy of such a well-loved and iconic show. This chapter has been unforgettable and while I look forward to what lies ahead, I will treasure these memories.’
