Coronation Street’s Roy Cropper sparks concern with sleepwalking drama
His long-term condition returns next week.
Coronation Street’s Roy Cropper will spark concern from his loved ones next week when his sleepwalking problem is revisited.
Roy is currently the main suspect in Lauren Bolton’s disappearance, a case which has now turned into a murder investigation.
The café owner was Lauren’s former boss before he sacked her for stealing money from Bethany Platt’s bag, and he was the last person to see her safe and well.
Roy recently cleaned her abandoned flat as a favour to Evelyn Plummer, who was sub-letting it to Lauren – but Bobby Crawford caught him and had his suspicions that he was cleaning a crime scene.
He later voiced these concerns to the police and was proved right when they found traces of blood and human tissue on the curtains in the flat.
As a result, Roy was then arrested on suspicion of murder and questioned by DS Swain before being released on bail.
Roy’s fate is currently up in the air, and he is also being targeted by online trolls who are convinced that he’s responsible for Lauren’s alleged death.
Things are set to escalate, when in scenes that will air on Monday, March 25, Roy’s niece Nina Lucas arrives at the café to find a smouldering pan on the stove.
Roy realises he must have been sleepwalking again amid his stress over being accused of killing Lauren and assures Nina it won’t happen again.
Roy’s sleepwalking has been a long-running storyline on the show, and he has struggled with the recurring problem during difficult times in his life – including the deaths of his father and mother, and before a big operation last year.
He tells his solicitor Dee-Dee Bailey that he is happy to pay to help clear his name, regardless of the cost.
Nina later reveals to Dee-Dee that she’s worried about Roy’s sleepwalking and is concerned about how he will be able to pay his legal fees, should his case go to court.
How will Roy manage get out of this mess?
