Gary makes a life-changing move in Coronation Street – and it’s a colossal mistake
Gary Windass (Mikey North) is set to make a colossal mistake in upcoming Coronation Street scenes when he makes a life-changing move.
Having run the antiques shop for a number of years, Gary is starting to get restless, and decides he wants a change.
He confides in girlfriend Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) that because business is slow, he’s contemplating selling up and instead buying the builder’s yard, which is still on the market.
However, Maria doesn’t think it’s a good idea, and warns him that they can’t afford it.
Later, Gary gets chatting to handyman Mick Michaelis (Joe Layton) and tells him about his dream to buy the builder’s yard.
When he mentions the fact that Maria isn’t keen, Mick tells him to go ahead with the purchase, insisting that what is best for Gary will be best for Maria too.
Maria later finds the pair sharing a celebratory drink in the Rovers – how will she react to Gary’s decision?
Gary excitedly assures Maria that he’s made the right move, and he’s going to make a success of the new business venture.
However, Maria is still sceptical, and warns Gary that offering Mick a job was a bad idea, before informing Mick that he isn’t welcome.
We can’t blame her, given that Mick has already intimidated Chesney Brown (Sam Aston) and assaulted Sean Tully (Antony Cotton).
Later, Liam Connor (Charlie Wrenshall) finds himself in trouble when his phone gets snatched at the precinct.
As the lads terrorise Liam, Mick approaches – will he intervene or let Liam suffer to get back at Maria? Will Gary regret getting involved with Mick?
