Coronation Street star teases ‘really good’ Kit and Lisa drama in Craig exit fallout
Coronation Street actor Jacob Roberts recently told The Mirror about some new drama between his character Kit Green and his 'rival' colleague DS Lisa Swain on the ITV soap
There will be more rivalry ahead for colleagues Lisa Swain and Kit Green on Coronation Street in the coming weeks.
Kit actor Jacob Roberts told The Mirror recently that he and co-star Vicky Myers had just filmed some “really good” scenes for future episodes, that could see the pair clash. But as the pair work through their “brother and sister” like relationship, Jacob confessed there will be both “soft sides and rivalry” towards each other.
The scenes will air in the fallout to their colleague Craig Tinker’s exit from the show next week. The scenes had only just been filmed when Kit actor Jacob spoke to The Mirror and other press a few weeks ago.
This means the stuff is very much on the way and has yet to air, while Craig’s final scenes air next week. These episodes had already been filmed prior to the stuff with Lisa and Kit, meaning there’s more drama for the pair in the coming weeks.
Jacob explained that things could get silly for the duo, in that they will fight “like kids”. Both Jacob and his co-star Vicky have likened the relationship as being “like brother and sister”.
Jacob told us: “Me and Vicky have been saying it’s like brother and sister. We just had a scene this morning where we sounded like kids towards each other.
“It’s been a good relationship because they both have soft sides to each other but there also is that rivalry, he does want to be top dog and she knows that and she wants to put him in his place. He thinks he’s better than her, she thinks she’s better than him, so it’s all that to play off.
“It’s been good, I had a scene this morning with Lisa which was really good.” Jacob teased the scenes at the end of April, meaning they will likely air towards the middle or end of June.
On being a “lone wold”, Jacob explained why Kit didn’t have many friends. He said: “I think he finds it hard to open up in front of other people. It’s hard for him to make friends, especially on the street because people are wary of him.
“He’s not the nicest person to meet straight away, it probably takes a lot of getting to know him, which people aren’t willing to do. He’s a bit of a snake, he’s sly, out for himself, so I think people find him hard to trust and he finds other people hard to trust.
“He does a bit of digging as well. I think he always digs and does his research before he meets someone, there’s a lot of things in the scripts where he’s looking at Gary and he mentions that he’s done his research on him before he met him and stuff like that, so there’s always a bit of an agenda with Kit.”
Both Kit and Lisa will feature in the huge episodes next week that lead to Craig’s exit, with a shock death teased. Lisa will be left stunned by her pal’s injuries, and is soon confiding in girlfriend Carla Connor after an emotional week.
