A Coronation Street killer may have sealed his own fate after pleading not guilty to murder in tonight’s episode.

Mick Michaelis (Joe Layton) beat PC Craig Tinker to death earlier this month, and has since been charged with his murder.

When Craig pulled him over for drink driving, Mick swung at him with a baseball bat, striking him over the head and leaving him bleeding and unconscious.

Though Craig was rushed to hospital, his condition deteriorated and he ended up dying from his injuries.

It didn’t take long for the Weatherfield police to haul Mick into the station, and after providing a false alibi, Mick was officially charged.

That wasn’t enough payback for DC Kit Green (Jacob Roberts), who was already embroiled in an ongoing feud with the criminal.

Earlier this week, Mick was attacked in prison, and it was quickly revealed that Kit had been the one to organise it, in a bid to push Mick into pleading guilty and cutting ties with son Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey).

However, Mick refused to be intimidated by Kit, and went against his advice, pleading not guilty in court.

Lou Michaelis (Farrel Hegarty) revealed this information to Brody and Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) after visiting her husband in prison.

They were both shocked when she also exposed Kit’s actions, with Bernie insistent that her son would never do such a thing.

With Kit having threatened that Mick would be killed if he went against his demands, has Mick sealed his own fate by pleading not guilty?
