The end for a Coronation Street couple as new cheating scandal confirmed

Another Coronation Street couple has fallen victim to a cheating scandal, it has been revealed in tonight’s episode.

Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling -Brown) was completely rattled when she spotted brother James Bailey (Jason Callender) getting out of a cab with baby Laila in tow.

Viewers will recall that Dee-Dee had given birth to Laila and allowed James to adopt her, under the assumption that he would take her to the US to live with him and his boyfriend, Danny.

Seeing them back on the cobbles left Dee-Dee upset and confused, and she demanded to know why James had come all the way from the States without so much as a phone call.

It was then that he explained that he had broken up with Danny, after catching him cheating with his physiotherapist.

He revealed that he had found texts on his phone which proved they’d been seeing each other for months, while James was left juggling looking after both Danny and Laila with holding down a job.

Dee-Dee made it clear how difficult it was for her to be around Laila, and pointed out that James and Laila moving back to Weatherfield wasn’t part of their agreement.

However, desperate James pointed out that he had nowhere else to go, and that he needed the support of his family to care for Laila.

When Ed Bailey (Trevor Michael Georges) insisted that James and Laila stay with him, James refused to accept unless Dee-Dee agreed, pointing out that she was right about their deal.

Later, Ed called Dee-Dee over for a private chat, where he explained that he understood where both she and James were coming from.

As he pointed out that James had nowhere else to go but refused to stay with his dad without Dee-Dee’s blessing, she was touched, and told Ed that she would find a way to cope with having Laila around.

Will she manage, or will it prove an impossible task?
