Coronation Street’s Tim ‘to cheat on Sally’ in shock affair twist with someone unexpected

Coronation Street viewers are speculating that Tim Metcalfe could be heading for an illicit affair, and it’s with a familiar face.

Tim, portrayed by Joe Duttine, has been a mainstay on the ITV soap since his first appearance in 2013. As Faye Windass’ (Ellie Leach) long-lost father, he quickly endeared himself to viewers.

The Street Cars driver has been involved in numerous unforgettable storylines, from his comical camaraderie with best mate Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) to unexpected DNA revelations.

His love story and subsequent marriage to Sally (Sally Dynevor) have also been standout moments on the soap. The couple began dating in 2013 and tied the knot two years later.

However, in true soap opera style, fans are predicting a shocking affair twist for Tim – and it involves an unlikely character, reports Leicestershire Live.

Recently on the cobbles, Tim’s mate Steve embarked on a romance with Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney), who has ruffled plenty of feathers since her arrival in 2023.

Earlier this year, she shockingly poisoned Ken Barlow (William Roache), whom she was looking after, in a desperate bid to prolong her involvement in his life.

In a dramatic turn of events, Ken was rushed to hospital following a heart attack but, thankfully, he pulled through. The truth about Cassie’s role in Ken’s health scare was subsequently revealed, leaving the community aghast. However, Ken found it in his heart to forgive her.

In a further twist, Steve has rekindled romance with Cassie and publicly confirmed their relationship – much to the astonishment of ex-wife Tracy (Kate Ford).

The couple took things to the next level last week, meeting up with Tim and Sally for a double date at Speed Daal, with Cassie enthusing they should make it a regular occurrence.

Now, fans are predicting that Tim and Cassie will start a secret affair. On a Coronation Street fan page on Facebook, a viewer speculated: “Tim and Cassie affair looming then?”.

Another devotee agreed: “I wouldn’t be shocked.” Mirroring this theory, another fan prophesied: “I’d like to think he wouldn’t do that to our Sal but at this point probably.” Another empathetic fan expressed sympathy for Sally, remarking: “Oh no poor Sally.”
