Coronation Street fans ‘work out’ who Tia Wardley really is after Becky ‘lie’

Fans think another big Coronation Street twist is on the way for new arrival Becky Swain and detective DI Costello.

Fresh from Becky’s fake death being exposed to her wife Lisa Swain, four years on from her hit and run murder, fans believe Costello and Becky are still covering something up. Fans saw in a recent episode that Lisa and her fiancée Carla Connor were quizzing Becky over the mystery Tia.

Lisa found out that the woman claiming to be Tia in a recent episode was a decoy, and soon the real Tia was explained to have died. Becky revealed Tia died in the hit and run, and Costello covered this up by claiming it was Becky who was deceased.

This allowed them to fake Becky’s death and get her into hiding, all while the real victim, Tia, was thought to be alive. But something didn’t sit right with viewers with them unconvinced that no one would figure out Tia was dead.

They also didn’t believe the claims that Tia was someone with no family, given the convenience surrounding her death, involving the Logan brothers, just as Becky needed to go into hiding. Some viewers believed Tia’s involvement was more than claimed, and Becky and Costello are covering things up once more.

Fans now believe Tia was known to Becky and Costello, or maybe even the gang Becky was in trouble with. With her going into hiding to “protect herself and her family” from a gang leader named Curtis, fans wondered if Tia was looking into said gang and paid the price.

A theory read: “Tia Wardley is the undercover cop sent to infiltrate the gang who discovered the truth.” A fan replied: “Oh my God, yes,” as a third fan said: “This.”

Another fan commented: “Omg yes this is what had me questioning that, gotta be and she had to be silenced. We don’t even know what she looks like the poor woman is in ashes and we will never know.”

One viewer said: “Oh that would be interesting. I also think that Tia played a more important role than we all realise.” Meanwhile, another convinced fan commented: “I also believe Tia Wardley was an undercover cop sent in to blow it up and got killed for it.”

Viewers will just have to tune in and see whether there really is more to Tia and what happened that night, with fans wondering how Logan Radcliffe knew who she was.
