Coronation Street actress Sally Carman has revealed her thoughts on Abi Webster’s explosive current plot. The plot involves her character beginning a steamy affair with her brother-in-law, Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard).
On the ITV soap, Abi is wed to Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell), but following her initial encounter with Carl in recent episodes, chemistry ignited between them, leading her to develop romantic feelings for her husband’s brother.
The betrayal has prompted Abi to question her marriage to Kevin. The latest episodes have shown her admitting that while she has deep affection for her spouse, she’s no longer romantically invested in their relationship.
Star Sally has confessed the plot has proved “really tough” as it appears increasingly probable that Abi and Kevin will separate, which means she’ll be working far less alongside colleague Michael.

In conversation with Digital Spy, Sally revealed: “This storyline – as brilliant as it is and I am loving it – does mean that potentially I might have to work less with Mike Le Vell, who plays Kev Webster, in the future.
“That has been really tough because I feel like we’re married! We’re ‘work wife, work husband’ – we have that relationship and he’s got my heart forever.”
She continued by confessing she’ll “miss working with him” as he’s a “dream” to perform alongside and she has come to “adore him” throughout their time together, reports Leicestershire Live.
Sally anticipates that Abi’s bond with Carl could result in “disaster,” warning: “I don’t think it would be wise for Abi to totally trust Carl in any capacity whatsoever.”
The soap star went on to hint at “fireworks” ahead for Abi as Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) has discovered her secret affair, which is bound to spell disaster.

In recent scenes, Carl and Tracy shared drinks together, during which she suspected he had developed feelings for Abi. He believed he’d successfully misled her by claiming he had an ex-partner in Wales he planned to visit.
Nevertheless, Tracy’s doubts about the pair persisted, and her suspicions were confirmed when she caught them in a passionate moment through a window.
What Tracy decides to do with this explosive revelation remains unclear, though it’s doubtful she’ll simply ignore it.
