Coronation Street’s Mikey North is a beloved figure on the soap, though many fans might be surprised to learn about his rather famous spouse in real life.
Mikey rose to prominence portraying Gary Windass on the ITV drama – first appearing back in 2008. Gary arrived on the cobbles alongside the entire Windass clan, including mother Anna (Debbie Rush). It wasn’t long before he established himself as a viewer favourite.
The construction worker has been central to numerous major plotlines throughout the years. From romantic disasters on the street to his mental health struggles, Gary’s journey in Weatherfield has been packed with turmoil.
Beyond the ITV drama, however, Mikey enjoys a far more peaceful existence with his spouse and two youngsters. The soap star is wed to actress Rachael Isherwood, reports the Mirror.

The couple tied the knot in 2016 following their initial meeting three years earlier. Mikey and Rachael share two children – son Archie, who arrived in 2017, and daughter Eliza, born in 2019.
Regarding Rachael, she’s certainly familiar with the spotlight herself. The fitness coach secured a significant part in the Hollywood hit Captain America: The First Avenger in 2011, according to MCU Fandom. Rachael portrayed a USO performer.

Mikey proposed to Rachael whilst on a romantic break in the Lake District during 2015. Reflecting on the moment, Mikey revealed to OK!: “I asked her to shut her eyes.
“When she opened them I was down on one knee with the ring. I was looking up at Rachael, with my knees getting wet, and I just said: ‘Will you marry me?'” He confessed: “In the moment before I proposed I was shaking like a leaf. Then when she said yes, I rang my mum and just couldn’t stop crying.”

Fast forward to 2016 and the couple made it official by tying the knot. As anticipated, there were numerous Corrie stars present including Bruno Langley, who portrays Todd Grimshaw, and Sam Ashton, who plays Chesney Brown.
Mikey also had Ian Puleston-Davis, who plays his on-screen stepfather Owen Armstrong, as his best man. It was a poignant day for Mikey who admitted: “Rachael looked amazing. I’m known for letting my emotions run away with me, so I was really concentrating on trying not to cry.”
