Former football manager Harry Redknapp has found himself at the centre of a heated public debate after sharing his outspoken views on Britain’s ongoing migrant crisis during a television interview.
Appearing on TalkTV alongside presenter Jeremy Kyle, the 79-year-old reflected on recent scenes from Spain’s North African enclave of Ceuta, where large numbers of migrants were reported crossing the border from Morocco.
Watching the footage, Harry questioned why so many of those arriving appeared to be men.
“What amazes me when I watch that footage is that they’re all blokes. Are there no women?” he said.
When asked whether he would ever leave a war-torn country without his wife, Sandra Redknapp, Harry replied that he would not.
“I’d absolutely take my wife with me,” he said, referring to Sandra, whom he has been married to for nearly six decades.
The conversation then turned to immigration in the UK, with Harry expressing concern about how the country has changed in recent years.
“They’ve got no intention of going back. They know this is the land of milk and honey, and we accept it all,” he said.
“It’s getting overrun. This country’s overrun.”
Using his hometown as an example, Harry added that he believes Bournemouth has changed dramatically, saying its town centre is “absolutely gone.”
Jeremy Kyle agreed that the area had changed significantly, recalling seeing “illegal migrants up and down the street” during a recent visit.
Harry’s remarks came as Spain continues to deal with a major migration surge in Ceuta, prompting authorities to strengthen border security and speed up the processing of irregular arrivals.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez announced additional police deployments, plans for a new maritime containment barrier, and faster repatriation procedures, while stressing continued cooperation with Morocco to tackle human trafficking networks.
The interview has quickly generated widespread discussion online, with supporters praising Harry for speaking openly about immigration while critics argued that his comments oversimplified a complex humanitarian and political issue.
