ITV Coronation Street Eli Merton’s secret sibling ‘exposed’ in huge DNA twist

Coronation Street fans believe they’ve worked out Eli Merton’s secret sibling in a huge DNA twist.

Eli (Daniel Garcia) made his debut on the ITV soap this Monday (August 18), turning up in Weatherfield for a business meeting at Underworld.

Taking over client duties from Carla Connor (Alison King), Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) greeted a late and flustered Eli at the factory.

However, Sarah remained oblivious to the fact that her boyfriend, Kit Green (Jacob Roberts), was the “over zealous traffic cop” who had delayed Eli by demanding to search his vehicle after he had parked illegally.

Whilst Sarah presented her sales pitch to Eli, both were taken aback when Kit unexpectedly turned up at the factory, reports Leicestershire Live.

Eli became annoyed upon discovering Kit and Sarah’s relationship, and swiftly moved to depart.

Panicked about losing the crucial business contract, Sarah then impulsively locked Eli in the office and carried on with her presentation.

Later, Carla informed Sarah that Eli was demanding a 40% discount or he’d file a sexual harassment complaint against her.

“This is literally insane, he can’t,” a shocked Sarah responded.

“Kit pulled him over before the meeting and they had an argument. Eli realised that Kit was my boyfriend, so this was obviously revenge for saying that I came onto him. Which I didn’t, obviously.”

Upon learning the details of the meeting, Kit confronted Eli beside his vehicle and insisted on an apology, but he declined.

In a surprising twist, David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) then intercepted Eli at the Chariot Square Hotel to offer some advice.

“You don’t know me but I know the cop who just threatened you. Don’t worry about it, me and DC Green, we go way back and I know exactly how he operates,” he said.

“I just wanna give you some advice. Green has been pushing his luck as of late, and if someone was, to say, report him for harassment, then I’m pretty sure it would stick. And any sort of problems you might have with the jolly green giant, then they would just float away.”

Now, several Coronation Street fans are speculating that Eli could be related to Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard), after noticing a resemblance between the two.

“I might need new glasses but hasn’t Carl got a look of Sarah’s client,” one viewer posted on a Facebook fan page.

Another chimed in: “I thought he was his brother lol,” while a third agreed: “I though the exact same!”

Meanwhile, other fans are convinced that Eli bears a striking similarity to Sarah’s ex, Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths).
