We’re in the middle of a huge week in Coronation Street. With the knowledge someone in Weatherfield is dead, this week’s episodes are delving deeper into the possible final day in the life of one of the potential murder victims.
One man on this list is Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard), who’s got quite the group of enemies thanks to the chaos he’s caused. Following the Corriedale crash, Carl let mum Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) go to prison for his dangerous driving offence.
When she was released, Carl spun a story to Debbie about how he’d really like to reconnect with her. His lie was sniffed out by Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan), who told Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) that he wouldn’t mind doing something to get rid of Carl for a very long time.
It’s not the best thing to say in the lead up to a murder taking place in your neighbourhood, let’s be honest.
Last night, the possibility of Carl being the victim increased as he successfully wound up Abi Webster (Sally Carman-Duttine), Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall), Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) and Kevin prior to his attempt at leaving Weatherfield.
Seething after a text from Kevin, Carl headed into the garage and secretly tampered with the brakes on his car.
This Friday, while Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) plays a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse to outsmart Theo, Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) finds herself caught in the middle with terrifying consequences.
Elsewhere, a web of lies begins to unravel for Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon), while Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) is caught in the crossfire of a home invastion.
Meanwhile, Ronnie decides to take matters into his own hands on a desolate ground.
